SEOUL, Aug. 28 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Soo-hyun will make his first appearance at an official event in South Korea in about a year and a half.

 

The organizing committee of The Fact Music Awards said Friday that Kim will attend the "2026 The Fact Music Awards" as a presenter on Sept. 19 at Busan Asiad Main Stadium. It will be his first official appearance on a domestic stage since a news conference in March last year.

 

Kim had previously faced allegations that he had been in a relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.

 

Kim Se-eui, head of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, which raised the allegations, was indicted and detained on charges including defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. Kim Soo-hyun was cleared of allegations of violating the Child Welfare Act.

 

Kim later resumed activities through overseas commercial shoots and appeared on a live broadcast marking the 37th anniversary of Indonesia's largest private broadcaster, RCTI, on Aug. 23.

 

In October, he is also scheduled to hold a fan meeting for about 20,000 people at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila as a model for Philippine fashion brand Bench.
