SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- Lee Jae-wook will enlist for mandatory military service on May 18, his agency Log Studio said Monday.
Lee will quietly enter a military training center without holding a separate event. After completing basic training, he will be assigned to a unit for active-duty service in the Army.
In a recent interview following the release of the Netflix series "Tan Geum," he shared his enlistment plans, saying he hopes to return "stronger and more mature" after completing his service.
Lee debuted in 2018 with the tvN drama "Memories of the Alhambra" and has since taken leading roles in "Search: WWW," "Extraordinary You," "Alchemy of Souls," "Tan Geum" and "Last Summer."
Despite his enlistment, he will continue to appear in upcoming projects, including the ENA drama "Doctor Someboy," set to premiere June 1, and the Netflix series "Sweet Part-time Job," scheduled for release in the second half of this year.
