SEOUL, Jan. 26(Yonhap) – The three members of K-pop boy group WEi have tested positive for the new coronavirus as a series of infected cases follow one after another in the music industry.
The agency Oui Entertainment said through the official fan café on Jan. 25, “WEi’s Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, and Kang Seok-hwa have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.”
Kim Dong-han showed symptoms of COVID-19 the previous day, and the three members were confirmed to have received negative results from the PCR test, according to the agency.
The agency explained, “We immediately suspended all schedules and took necessary measures in accordance with the quarantine authorities,” adding, "The remaining three, including Jang Dae-hyeon, Kim Yo-han, and Kim Jun-seo, are waiting for the PCR test results."
Kim Dong-han is also known to have recently participated in the entertainment show shooting.
The agency said, “Kim Dong-han tested negative for COVID-19 from the test, which was conducted ahead of ‘Double Trouble’ shooting on Jan. 24.,” and mentioned that it had delivered the news to the broadcasting company.
It added, “The group’s schedules that were planned can be changed depending on the situation,” adding, “We will spare no support for the health and safety of the artist by faithfully cooperating with the epidemiological survey of the quarantine authorities.”
This is the third time WEi’s member has tested positive for COVID-19.
