SEOUL, June 19 (Yonhap) -- South Gyeongsang Province's Haman County said Friday it will hold the "2026 Haman Nakhwa Festival with MyK FESTA" at Mujinjeong Pavilion from July 3-4 to promote the traditional Haman Nakhwa fireworks display to a global audience.

The festival combines Haman Nakhwa Nori, a traditional firework event designated as an intangible cultural heritage of South Gyeongsang Province, with K-pop performances and hands-on programs. It will be held as part of "2026 MyK FESTA," a large-scale Korean Wave event supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.

Singers Sohyang and Ahn Ye-eun, along with Seodo Band, will take the stage with performances blending traditional culture and contemporary music.

The county plans to limit attendance to 3,000 visitors per day.

It aims to attract about 1,000 overseas visitors from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan, as well as some 2,000 domestic spectators.

For the first time, the Haman Nakhwa event will introduce a reserved seating system.

The county will provide 2,600 temporary chairs and cushions with assigned seat numbers. An additional 400 nonreserved seats will also be available.

Tickets can be booked through Yes24 Ticket, with 2,000 seats going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Unsold tickets and canceled reservations will be made available in a second round of sales beginning at 10 a.m. on June 26.

"The newly introduced reserved seating system will provide a safer and more comfortable viewing environment," a county official said. "We will continue to expand Haman's cultural tourism content that connects tradition with modernity."
