SEOUL, Oct. 5 (Yonhap) -- Movie "Birth" depicting the life of first Korean priest Andrew Kim Taegon will be released next month.

According to Min Film on Wednesday, the movie "Birth" focuses on pioneer Kim Taegon who fling open Joseon's modern era along with his martyrdom journey as a priest.

The major adventures of Father Kim Taegon, such as studying in Macao and the Opium War, Rafael crossing the West Sea, and pioneering a sea entry route through Baengnyeong Island, were created in a large-scale filming through data research, research, and inspection.

Countless actors with proven acting skills will appear in the movie.

Other than Yoon Si-yoon, who plays Father Kim Taegon, renowned actors such as Ahn Sung-ki, Yoon Kyung-ho, Kim Kang-woo, Lee Moon-sik, and Lee Kyung-young will also appear.

The movie was filmed to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Father Kim Taegon last year and for being chosen as a UNESCO World Monument.
