SEOUL, Jan. 27(Yonhap) -- Switzerland Tourism announced on Jan. 26 that it has appointed actress Lee Si-young as “Swiss Friends,” a Switzerland Tourism ambassador selected every two years.

The Swiss Government Tourism Organization announced on the 26th that it has appointed actor Lee Si-young as Swiss Friends, a Swiss tourism ambassador selected every two years.

Lee Si-young attended the appointment ceremony held in Lindenhof, an old town in Zurich, on Jan. 24, and also had an interview with Martin Nydegger, CEO of the Switzerland Tourism, according to the organization.

Lee has appeared in various dramas and movies since 2008, and has also drawn attention by winning a series of competitions as a professional boxer.

The actress, who visited Swiss on Jan. 23, will stay in the country until Feb. 4 and travel to not only Titlis, which is twinned with Yeongnam Alps in Korea, but also Zurich, Zermatt, Lucerne, and Saint Moritz, and experience a variety of winter activities, such as skiing.

Some criticized that Lee Si-young took pictures in Switzerland without a mask, saying, "I'm worried," but on the other hand, others said that they envy her for freely traveling abroad in the pandemic.
