SEOUL, August 22 (Yonhap) --Girl group Blackpink's new song “Pink Venom,” released on Aug 17, has topped on Spotify, the world's largest streaming platform.

The song has topped the U,S, Spotify “Global Top 50” chart, according to their agency YG Entertainment on Aug. 21. This is the first song by a K-pop female artist to rank No.1. 

 

“Pink Venom” recorded 7,937,063 streamings on the first day of its release.

Blackpink has ranked second on this chart in 2020 with “How You Like That.”

Blackpink's pre-release song from second full album, “Pink Venom,” showed off its global popularity by reaching the top of iTunes Top Song Charts in 73 countries on the day of its release.

The music video for “Pink Venom” surpassed 100 million YouTube views within 29 hours of its release, reaching 100 million views the fastest among K-pop girl group music videos,
