SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the latest Spider-Man series film, has exceeded 6 million audiences and has topped S.Korea’s weekend box office for three consecutive weeks.
“Spider-man” attracted 705,000 people for four days (Dec. 31~ Jan. 2), accounting for 65.1% of the period’s total ticket sales, and became the No. 1 movie in the box office, according to the data by the Korea Film Council, Monday.
The blockbuster reached a high score with 6,074,000 cumulative audiences since its release on Dec. 15, breaking the 6 million mark for the first time in the pandemic era.
The Spider-man blockbuster garnered 5 million audiences on Dec 28, after 14 days of its release, outpacing the biggest 2020~2021 hit, “The Man Standing Next.”
“The King’s Man” remained in second place for two weeks with 208,000 audiences, taking up 19.2% of the box office. The movie garnered 776,000 people since its release on Dec. 22.
Director Kwak Jae-yong’s romance film “A Year-End Medley” ranked third place with 113,000 people (10.2%).
The number of people who visited the theater last weekend was 1,096,000, down 38% from the previous week (1,768,000).
