SEOUL, April 24 (Yonhap) -- The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency said Friday they held a business meeting in Hanoi to support the overseas expansion of South Korean K-beauty companies.
The event took place at Lotte Hotel Hanoi earlier in the day, aiming to help local small and medium-sized beauty firms enter the Vietnamese market.
Vietnam has been a key market with sustained interest in K-beauty amid the popularity of Korean culture, while also serving as a strategic hub for expanding into Southeast Asia. Many South Korean SMEs are currently considering entry into the country.
At the event, the agency arranged one-on-one export consultations between domestic K-beauty firms and local buyers. A showcase zone was also set up at the venue entrance, allowing buyers to directly view participating companies’ products.
A total of 15 South Korean K-beauty SMEs took part in the meeting.
An official from the agency said it will continue to expand on-site support programs to help domestic SMEs advance into overseas markets.
