CHANGWON, South Korea, Oct. 8 (Yonhap) -- The 21st MAMF cultural diversity festival will take place from Oct. 23-25 at Yongji Culture Park, Seongsan Art Hall and areas around Jungang-daero in Changwon, the city government said Thursday.

 

The festival is co-hosted by South Gyeongsang Province, Changwon city, the Gyeongnam Migrants' Community and Human Rights Center and the Changwon Cultural Foundation, and organized by the MAMF 2026 organizing committee.

 

This year's festival, held under the slogan "Twenty-One, One World," has Uzbekistan as its guest country.

 

A total of 22 countries, including Uzbekistan and countries in Asia and Latin America, as well as 10 foreign embassies in South Korea, will participate in the festival.

 

During the festival, an academic event featuring presentations on cultural diversity policy research will be held, along with a mobile job counseling booth for foreigners to provide migrant workers with information on employment.

 

A special cultural performance by Uzbekistan's national arts troupe, showcasing the guest country's culture, will be held at the main auditorium of Seongsan Art Hall on Oct. 23 and 24.

 

Various programs offering hands-on experiences of cultures from different countries and everyday life around the world will also be available throughout the festival.

 

The Korea Migrant Song Festival, where migrants express themselves through music and communicate with audiences, will take place on the main stage at Yongji Culture Park on Oct. 24.

 

On the final day, the festival's signature "Cultural Diversity Parade" will be held, featuring 19 teams from 16 countries.

 

Changwon city said it will work to ensure safe and convenient operation of the festival by establishing a safety management plan for the event venues and coordinating traffic control measures on Jungang-daero.
