SEOUL, Aug. 22 (Yonhap) -- An event honoring the achievements of leaders in the Asian music industry is set to take place. Billboard Korea announced on the 21st that it will hold the 'Billboard K Power 100' on August 27 at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul.

The event, which marks the launch of Billboard Korea, the Korean branch of Billboard Media, will celebrate the accomplishments of prominent leaders and innovators representing the Asian music scene.

Billboard annually releases the 'Billboard Power 100,' recognizing the most influential figures in the global music industry. This new event in Korea will follow in that tradition by spotlighting key contributors to the Asian music landscape.

The event will be attended by notable figures from Billboard, including Mike Van, President of Billboard, and Hannah Karp, Editorial Director. Additionally, Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza and Filipino group SB19 are expected to attend the event in Korea.

The event will also feature the unveiling of a directory of K-pop artists, intended to serve as a comprehensive guide to the current state of the K-pop industry. This directory will be published annually.

Kim Youna, Publisher of Billboard Korea, stated, "Billboard Korea aims to discover the next global stars like BTS and will focus on creating opportunities for Korean artists to expand internationally."
