SEOUL, Sept. 26 (Yonhap) -- For fans who missed out on K-pop concerts due to fierce competition for tickets, a series of concert films will soon be screened in theaters, offering a chance to relive the performances on the big screen.
According to the film industry on the 26th, the concert film "IVE: The First World Tour in Cinema," featuring footage from girl group IVE's first world tour, will be exclusively released at Lotte Cinema next month. The film captures the encore performances of their Show What I Have world tour, held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul last month, following their tour across 28 cities in 19 countries across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Alongside live performances, the film includes behind-the-scenes interviews with the members.
Boy group Highlight, known for their longevity in the industry, will release "Highlight: Lights Go On, Again in Cinema" on the 16th of next month, exclusively at CGV. The film features their 15th-anniversary concert, held at the KSPO Dome in May, with hit songs such as Switch On and Shock. The film will also be shown in special formats like ScreenX, 4DX, and Ultra 4DX at select CGV theaters.
NCT 127 member Taeyong's solo concert film "Taeyong: T.Y. Track in Cinema" premiered at CGV just a day earlier. The film showcases Taeyong’s first solo concert, held before his enlistment in the navy. Known as the leader of NCT 127, Taeyong debuted as a solo artist last year with his mini-album SHALALA. Fans can expect to see performances of tracks like Concrete, Virtual Insanity, APE, and Moonlight.
Additionally, Lim Young-woong's concert film "Lim Young-woong | I'm Hero The Stadium," which captures his solo concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium, continues to perform well in theaters. More than a month since its release, the film has surpassed 300,000 in total audience as of the 24th, easily outpacing the 250,000 final audience count for his previous concert film "I'm Hero The Final (2023)." With ticket sales bolstered by higher-priced formats like IMAX and ScreenX, the film's cumulative revenue has exceeded 8.5 billion won.
