From Gong Hyo-jin’s Space Drama to 'Earth Arcade 3': tvN Unveils 2025 Lineup

SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- tvN announced its 2025 programming lineup on Wednesday, showcasing a diverse array of content ranging from Korea's first space office drama to sequels of popular variety shows.

 

One of the standout offerings is the drama "When the Stars Gossip," set to premiere on January 4. The series, featuring Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho, unfolds aboard a zero-gravity space station where an astronaut and an uninvited guest with a secret mission cross paths. 

 

Gong reunites with writer Seo Sook-hyang and director Park Shin-woo from the hit drama "Jealousy Incarnate."

 

Other upcoming dramas include "Seocho-dong," a legal office drama starring Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-young; "Typhoon Sangsa," a 1997 period drama with Lee Junho and Geum Sae-rok;

"Wongyeong," a historical drama featuring Cha Joo-young and Lee Hyun-wook;

"The Cowherd and the Fairy," a romantic fantasy starring Cho Yi-hyun and Chu Young-woo.

Some lighthearted new projects add variety, such as "Divorce Insurance," a rom-com directed by Killing Romance filmmaker Lee Won-suk and starring Lee Dong-wook and Lee Joo-bin.

 

The batch also includes "Potato Research Institute," a countryside romantic comedy with Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh; "Please Stop Drinking," from the writers of "The Sound of Your Heart," starring Choi Soo-young and Gong Myung. "The Black Dragon": A webtoon adaptation with Moon Ga-young and Choi Hyun-wook.

Among other upcoming highlights are "Mysterious Seoul," a romance starring Park Bo-young and Park Jin-young; "My Happy Home," a family drama about a counterfeiting operation to cover medical expenses; "The Tyrant’s Chef," a fantasy survival romance involving time travel.

 

tvN’s 2024 variety lineup is equally compelling. Returning hits include: "Earth Arcade" Season 3 and "Business Genius Baeksajang" and "Sisters’ Market Direct." 

 

New additions include a spin-off of "Kong Kong Pat Pat", titled "Kong Kong Bap Bap", set to air in February; a food travelogue with chef Edward Lee exploring Korea’s seasonal ingredients; a collaboration between Yoo Jae-suk and director Jung Cheol-min on a mystery variety show, "Apartment 404"; and a travel knowledge program by Yang Jeong-woo, the creator of "The Dictionary of Useless Knowledge."

 

 

With a mix of bold new concepts and beloved returning series, tvN aims to captivate viewers with an array of fresh entertainment in 2024.
