SEOUL, July 27 (Yonhap) -- Lee Min-woo, a member of first-generation K-pop group SHINHWA, has announced his upcoming marriage.
According to the music industry Saturday, the 45-year-old singer shared the news via his personal Instagram account a day earlier, writing, “After a long time of knowing each other, we confirmed our shared feelings and have decided to become a family. I hope you will bless us with warm hearts.”
He added, “Going through various situations recently, I found myself emotionally exhausted, and I spent more time with my family, reflecting on what they mean to me. I had always vaguely hoped to someday build my own family, one that could be a source of strength for each other.”
Debuting in 1998 as a member of SHINHWA, Lee gained popularity with hits such as "Brand New" and "Perfect Man." He is also active as a painter and held his first solo exhibition titled "PURISM" last month on June 21.
“There will be changes in my life, but I will continue my activities without change, fueled by the love of SHINHWA Changjo (fan club) and my family,” he said.
Lee is set to appear next month on the KBS 2TV variety show "Mr. House Husband," where he will share the wedding preparations with his fiancee.
