SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- Joo-Hyung Lee, a producer (35) known for his work on popular variety shows such as "Three Meals a Day - Gochang Edition," has tragically died in a traffic accident.
According to the broadcasting industry on the 24th, PD Lee was involved in a fatal accident near Sangam-dong, Mapo District, Seoul, at 12:26 a.m. on the 22nd while on his way home after working late. The taxi carrying PD Lee collided first with a parked tour bus and then with a compact car, resulting in his death at the scene.
Lee joined CJ ENM in 2016 and contributed to the production of various popular programs, including "Three Meals a Day - Gochang Edition," "New Journey to the West" Seasons 2 and 3, "Great Escape 4," "Korean Monster," "Somehow Adult," and "Comedy Big League."
Last July, he moved to Borderless Film, a production company acquired by Coupang Play, where he worked on the Disney+ sports documentary "Full Count." He was also an expectant father, with his first child due in December.
The funeral was held at Guro Seongsim Hospital in Seoul, where his memorial service had been arranged.
