SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Yonhap) -- Actor Song Jae-rim, known for hit Kdramas "The Moon Embracing the Sun" and "Queen Woo," has been found deceased in his Seoul residence, the police said on Tuesday.
Authorities of Seongdong Police Station indicated there were no signs of foul play, adding that the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
Song's family has demanded a private funeral service, refraining from commenting further on the circumstances of his passing.
Debuting in the 2009 film "Actresses," Song gained popularity in 2012 through his role as the reserved royal guard Kim Je-woon in "The Moon Embracing the Sun." His appearance on the reality show "We Got Married" in 2014 brought him further into the spotlight. Most recently, he featured in the 2023 TVING original series "Queen Woo" and "Bloody Romance" on Rakuten Viki.
Song also appeared in the theater this year, with performances in the play "Wife in February" and the musical "The Rose of Versailles," which concluded last month.
His funeral will be held in Room 2 at Seoul’s Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital, with the procession set for Nov. 14.
