SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Yonhap) -- Director Park Hoon-jung's new film "Tristes Tropiques" will hit theaters on Nov. 25, distributor Mindmark said Tuesday.
"Tristes Tropiques" is an action noir about children belonging to an organization of killers bearing the same name. The organization was raised by Sabu, an absolute ruler of the rainforest, and the story unfolds as the children begin to suspect one another following Sabu's death.
Park, who directed films including "New World" (2013) and "The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion" (2018), is returning with the film three years after "The Childe" (2023).
Kim Myung-min plays Sabu, while Park Hae-soo, Lee Shin-young of "Rebound" (2023) and Park Yu-rim of "Drive My Car" (2021) portray killers raised in the jungle. Taiwanese actors including Lin Bo-hong, Chen Yi-wen and Wang Po-chieh also appear in the film.
The film won the Jury Special Award, known as the Silver Raven, in the international competition section of the 44th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival held in April.
