SEOUL, Sept. 15 (Yonhap) -- Felix of K-pop boy group Stray Kids has donated a total of 300 million won on his birthday, his agency, JYP Entertainment, said Tuesday.
Felix donated 100 million won each to Samsung Medical Center and Seoul National University Children's Hospital, and 50 million won each to Books International and the Korean Committee for UNICEF.
The donations will be used to help cover treatment costs for pediatric and adolescent cancer patients at Samsung Medical Center and support children from vulnerable families at Seoul National University Children's Hospital.
The funds will also support the creation and production of picture books in children's native languages as part of Books International's picture-book-based cultural education and awareness program, as well as emergency relief efforts in Nepal following severe flooding through the Korean Committee for UNICEF.
"I hope every day for many children will be filled with clear hope instead of worry," Felix said. "I sincerely hope this can be a small but warm source of strength for their precious today and tomorrow."
Stray Kids, the group Felix is a member of, will perform at "STRAYCITY," a new music festival, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Tuesday (local time).
